The most common method to download Windows is through the “Installation Tool,” which is essentially a small program that allows you to download Windows onto a USB stick or DVD. It is recommended to use a USB stick (minimum 8GB). After installation on the stick, restart your computer and immediately select booting from the stick.
First Step
Download this tool provided by Microsoft.
Make sure you have:
- An internet connection.
- Sufficient available storage space on your computer, USB drive, or external drive where you download the .iso file.
- A blank DVD with at least 8 GB (and a DVD writer) to create a bootable disk. We recommend using an empty USB stick or a blank DVD, as any content on it will be erased during installation.
- If you receive a message like “the disc image file is too large” when trying to write a bootable DVD from an ISO file, consider using a larger-capacity Dual-Layer DVD.
Step 2
Open the downloaded file and start the installation procedure. Accept the Terms and Conditions by pressing the Accept button.
Step 3
If you want to change the language, uncheck “Use the recommended options for this PC,” select the desired language, and press Next.
Step 4
Select where you want to download Windows to proceed with the installation. We recommend a USB Flash drive because it is more efficient, faster, and less likely to have installation issues.
Final
After selecting the USB stick inserted into the computer, the Windows download onto the stick will begin. Wait until it reaches 100%.
Now you have Windows downloaded on the USB stick and are ready to install it on the desired computer.
